    اصبر على ما يقولون واذكر عبدنا داوود ذا الأيد إنه أواب
  • And (we said) "Take in your hand a jumble of rushes, then strike therewith, and do not break (your oath)." Surely We found him a patient (man). How excellent a bondman he was! Surely he was a constant resorter (to Us).
    وخذ بيدك ضغثا فاضرب به ولا تحنث إنا وجدناه صابرا نعم العبد إنه أواب

    « و » سخرنا « الطير محشورة » مجموعة إليه تسبح معه « كل » من الجبال والطير « له أوَّاب » رجّاع إلى طاعته بالتسبيح .

    « ووهبنا لداود سلمان » ابنه « نعم العبد » أي سليمان « إنه أوَّاب » رجّاع في التسبيح والذكر في جميع الأوقات .
