• The Security Council will recall that the name of commander Laurent Kunde and the Seventh Brigade of RCD/GOMA had already been mentioned in a number of reports, including those of the United Nations, in connection with the summary execution of five RCD/GOMA officers at Kalemie in May 2002 and the brutal and bloody repression in Kisangani on 14 May 2002.
