• Una iniciativa similar, relacionada con los objetivos de desarrollo del Milenio, fue la conferencia organizada por el Banco Mundial en 2004 con el título, Scaling Up Poverty Reduction: A Global Learning Process, en la cual se examinaron unos 100 casos prácticos que representaban la mayoría de los sectores económicos y sociales a fin de encontrar intentos, satisfactorios o no, de poner en práctica en mayor escala iniciativas de lucha contra la pobreza.
