• A principios de año, el ONUSIDA, el UNFPA y otros asociados pusieron en marcha la Coalición Mundial sobre la Mujer y el SIDA y en la XV Conferencia Internacional sobre el SIDA (Bangkok, julio de 2004) el UNFPA, el ONUSIDA y el UNIFEM presentaron la publicación Women and AIDS: Confronting the Crisis, que llamó la atención sobre esa cuestión fundamental.

• Entre los numerosos ejemplos cabe destacar la publicación por WIDE en septiembre de 2004 de “Globalising women's rights: Confronting unequal development between the UN rights framework and the WTO trade agreements”, documento final de su conferencia anual, celebrada en Bonn (Alemania).
