The European Union welcomes the efforts of the Government of Colombia to seek the disarmament and demobilization of paramilitary groups and will follow with great interest the negotiations with the Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC) in the zona de ubicación.

A serious case was the one involving “Don Berna”, the head of a demobilized paramilitary unit, who was reported to be responsible for the murders of a deputy from the Department of Córdoba, his sister and another person in Tierralta, in the vicinity of the Concentration Zone (Zona de Ubicación).
ومن بين جرائم القتل الخطيرة، ينبغي الإشارة إلى اغتيال نائب مقاطعة قرطبة، وشقيقته وشخص آخر في تيرالتا قرب "زونا دي أوبيكاثيون" وكان المسؤول عن ذلك هو رئيس جماعة شبه عسكرية مسرّحة، يدعى دون بارنا.
