arabdict - User account

On the arabdict website, you have the option of voluntarily creating an account to receive a certain quota of ad-free search results, suggest vocabulary, track your suggestions for new words and changes, and to be able to participate in discussions about vocabulary. To do this, you must enter a login name, your full name and e-mail address, and choose a password. Your real name is not visible to other users. Of course, you alone decide which data you would like to communicate to us. We feel obliged to do this according to the principle of data economy.

Use of Data

arabdict dictionaries uses the collected data for various purposes:

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – to save our database to your device’s external memory
CHECK_LICENSE – to check if our paid apps have the license and you are allowed to use them
INTERNET – to download database, communicate with this web-site, get the advertising banners
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – to check if the Internet is connected
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE – to check if you are connected to the Internet through wi-fi or cell network
READ_PHONE_STATE – this permission required by some Ads SDKs that we use, below we will describe each of them device from sleeping while downloading database
RECORD_AUDIO - to record audio for voice search functionality

We use Google Analytics with the anonymization function. By means of this addition, Google shortens and anonymizes the IP address of the Internet connection of the person concerned, if our Internet pages are accessed from a member state of the European Union or from another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

You may deactivate Google Analytics with the help of a browser add-on if you do not want this website analysis. This add-on can be downloaded here. You can also activate the "I refuse the storage of my user profile" option above, which will deactivate the Google Analytics service on our website in your browser.

User-based event data at Google Analytics is deleted after 38 months.

Google reCAPTCHA

In order to ensure sufficient data security during the transmission of forms, we use Google Inc.'s reCAPTCHA service in certain cases to differentiate between input by a natural person and misuse by mechanical and automated processing.
