As we have noted, such acts may have various objects, but the main one is the recognition of the State “dont la naissance ne cesse de provoquer depuis la fin du XVIII siècle des réflexes de (non) reconnaissance de la part de la `famille des nations' appelée à acueillir un nouveau membre dans son sein” (whose birth, since the end of the eighteenth century, has constantly evoked reflexes of [non] recognition on the part of the `family of nations' which called upon to welcome a new member).
وكما سبقت الإشارة إلى ذلك، فإن موضوع العمل متنوع غير أنه يتعلق أساسا بالاعتراف بالدولة “التي ما فتئت نشأتها تثير منذ نهاية القرن الثامن عشر ردود فعل تتمثل في الاعتراف (عدم الاعتراف) من جانب `أسرة الأمم' المدعوة إلى احتضان عضو جديد في صفوفها”.
