• On 23 May 2001, in the case of Denizci and Others v. Cyprus, the European Court of Human Rights found the Government of Cyprus to have violated the European Convention on Human Rights in relation to the prohibition of inhumane treatment, and to the rights to liberty, security and freedom of movement, of the applicants, a group of Turkish Cypriots living in the south.
  وفي 23 أيار/مايو 2001 خلصت المحكمة الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان، في قضية "دينيزي وآخرون ضد قبرص"، إلى أن حكومة قبرص قد انتهكت الاتفاقية الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان فيما يتصل بحظر المعاملة غير الإنسانية، والحق في كل من الحرية والأمان وحرية التنقل، للمدّعين، كمجموعة من القبارصة الأتراك الذين يعيشون في الجنوب.
