• Recently, in February 2002, they had organized a workshop of near-Earth object observers in Montevideo, with the participation of more than 20 professional and amateur observers from the following countries: Argentina (the Observatorio Astronómico Felix Aguilar-Yale Southern Observatory in San Juan and the Centro Regional de Investigaciones Científicas y Tecnológicas in Mendoza); Brazil (the Observatorio Abraes de Moraes in San Pablo, the Observatorio Wykrota Belo Horizonte and the Observatorio Nacional in Rio de Janeiro); Paraguay (the Observatorio Nacional de Asunción and Sociedad de Estudios Astronómicos at Asunción); and Uruguay (the Departamento de Astronomía of the Facultad de Ciencias, the Observatorio Astronómico Los Molinos and the Observatorio Kappa Crucis in Montevideo).
