• Sometimes these are called Diritti Conessi (“connected rights”) or Verwandte Schutzrechte (“related rights”) or Droits Voisins (“neighbouring rights”), but the common term is the English “neighbouring rights.” Internationally, neighbouring rights are generally protected under the Rome Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organizations done Oct. 26, 1961.
