• The Committee welcomes the adoption of the General Equal Treatment Act in August 2006 (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz - AGG), which prohibits discrimination on the grounds of race and ethnic origin, gender, religion and belief, disability, age and sexual orientation.

• Re: a) With the adoption of the General Act on Equal Treatment (Allgemeine Gleichbehandlungsgesetz - AGG), the four existing European anti-discrimination directives were implemented (Anti-Racism Directive 2000/43/EC of 29 June 2000, Employment Framework Directive 2000/78/EC of 27 November 2000, Equal Treatment Amendment Directive 2002/73/EC of 23 September 2002, so-called “Unisex Directive” for Equal Treatment in Access to Goods and Services 2004/113/EC of 13 December 2004).
