  أما الوفيات النفاسية التي تشكل 10 في المائة من وفيات النساء اللاتي تتراوح أعمارهن بين 15 و 49 سنة، فتتوزع بدورها على نحو غير متساو، إذ تبلغ مثلا 23 لكل 000 100 مولود حي في ولاية عنابة (شرق الجزائر) مقابل 230 من كل 000 100 مولود حي في أدرار (جنوب الجزائر)، أي عشرة أضعاف النسبة الأولى.
