• On its initiative, a High Level Expert Seminar on complementary international standards was organized on 16 - 20 January 2006 (see the report of the Working Group E/CN.4/2006/18 at www.ohchr.org).

• J'ai également reçu une proposition tendant à adapter légèrement le texte de la déclaration présidentielle complémentaire (The Complementary Presidential Statement), tout en gardant inchangé le texte du document L.1, et à intégrer cette déclaration dans le projet de décision présidentielle.

• In the follow-up to the recommendations of the 2001 World Conference against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, the Intergovernmental Working Group on the effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, established by Commission on Human Rights (resolution 2002/68), has addressed at its meetings the issue of the relevant complementary normative standards.
  متابعة لتوصيات المؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب، تناول الفريق العامل الحكومي الدولي المعني بالتنفيذ الفعال لإعلان وبرنامج عمل ديربان، المُنشأ بموجب قرار لجنة حقوق الإنسان (2002/68) خلال اجتماعاته مسألة وضع المعايير التكميلية ذات الصلة.
• The Working Group specifically concluded that “a successful strategy to combat racism and racial discrimination on a global scale, should direct relevant attention to the need to reinforce the implementation of existing international instruments and the elaboration of complementary international standards to address substantive and procedural gaps in those instruments.”
  وقد خلص الفريق العامل على وجه الخصوص إلى "أن الاستراتيجية الناجحة لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري على نطاق عالمي ينبغي أن تولي الاهتمام الواجب لضرورة تعزيز تنفيذ الصكوك الدولية القائمة ووضع معايير دولية تكميلية لسد الفجوات الموضوعية والإجرائية في تلك الصكوك".
• Following on the Working Group's recommendations, the Human Rights Council in its resolution 1/5 (30 June 2006) requested a Group of five Experts and the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination to prepare studies, on substantive and procedural issues respectively, for the discussion on complementary standards at the fifth session of the Working Group.
  ومتابعة لتوصيات الفريق العامل، طلب مجلس حقوق الإنسان، في قراره 1/5 (30 حزيران/يونيه 2006) إلى فريق يتكون من خمسة خبراء وإلى لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري إعداد دراستين حول المسائل الموضوعية والإجرائية، على التوالي، وتقديم الوثيقتين خلال المناقشة بشأن المعايير التكميلية المقرر إجراؤها خلال الدورة الخامسة للفريق العامل.
• The questionnaire has been formulated on the basis of the existing documents, in particular the outcome of the High Level Seminar on complementary international standards, including conclusions of the Chairperson and of the Working Group (see the aforementioned report of the Working Group), as well as the discussions among the Experts.
