• The objective of the Convention, as highlighted in its article 3, is “to protect present and future generations from the devastating health, social, environmental and economic consequences of tobacco consumption and exposure to tobacco smoke by providing a framework of tobacco control measures to be implemented by the Parties at the national, regional and international levels”.
  يتمثل الغرض المنشود من الاتفاقية على نحو ما أبرز في المادة 3 منها، في ”حماية الأجيال الحالية والمقبلة من العواقب الصحية والاجتماعية والبيئية والاقتصادية المدمرة الناجمة عن تعاطي التبغ والتعرض لدخانه، وذلك بإتاحة إطار لتدابير مكافحة التبغ التي يتعين أن تنفذها الأطراف على الصعيد الوطني والإقليمي والدولي“.
