• On 9 July 1999 the Government transmitted the following information received from the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Interior concerning the urgent appeal transmitted by the Special Rapporteur on the detention of the lawyers of Abdullah Ocalan: “Members of the Diyarbakir Bar Association, lawyers Mr. Sinan Tanrikulu, Mr. Selim Kurbanoglu, Mr. Abdullah Akin, Mr. Mahmut Vefa, Mr. Mansur Resitoglu and trainee lawyer Mr. Ferda Pokerce, as well as lawyers Mr. Feridum Celik and Mr. Yusuf Tosun, were taken into custody on 16 February 1999 by the Directorate of Security of Diyarbakir, on grounds of protesting and demonstrating against the arrest of Abdullah Ocalan, leader of the illegal, terrorist organization PKK.
  وفي 9 تموز/يوليه 1999 أحالت الحكومة المعلومات التالية الواردة من وزارة العدل ووزارة الداخلية فيما يتعلق بالنداء العاجل الذي أحالته المقررة الخاصة بشأن احتجاز المحامين عن عبد الله أوجلان: "أعضاء رابطة ديار بكر للمحاماة وهم المحامون السيد سينان تانريكلوف، والسيد سليم كوربانوغلو، والسيد عبد الله أكيم، والسيد محمود وفا، والسيد منصور ريسيتوغلو، والمحامي المتدرب السيد فيردا بوكرتشي فضلاً عن المحاميين السيد فيريدوم سيلتش والسيد يوسف توسون اللذين وضعا رهن الاعتقال يوم 16 شباط/فبراير 1996 من قبل مديرية الأمن في ديار بكر، على أساس الاحتجاج وتنظيم المظاهرات ضد اعتقال عبد الله أوجلان، زعيم منظمة غير شرعية وإرهابية وهي حزب العمال الكردستاني.
