• The meeting was attended by Cape Verde, Comoros, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Singapore, the Indian Ocean Commission (COI), the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), UNESCO, UNAIDS, FAO, Global Forum of Oceans, Coasts and Islands, Liaison Unit of NGOs (LUNGOS) and Centre de Documentation et Recherche et Formation Indianoceanique (CEDREFI).
  كما لاحظ الاجتماع أن البحرين، وقبرص، ومالطة، قد أعربت عن طريق ممثليها الدائمين لدى الأمم المتحدة عن رغبتها في ألا تكون ممثلة في الاجتماع.
