• During the period under review, the Government provided detailed information on the activities of the various mechanisms established to determine the whereabouts of disappeared persons in Argentina: the National Commission on Disappearances (CONADEP); proceedings known as Juicios de la Verdad (Truth Trials) that are aimed at upholding the right to truth of the victims' relatives; the Office of the Under-Secretary for Human Rights; and the National Commission on the Right to Identity (CONADI) whose task it is to investigate the whereabouts of disappeared children and of those born during the mother's captivity.
