• The view was expressed that the substance of draft article 66 was inconsistent with the principle of a limitation period, at least as that principle was understood in some legal systems. It was pointed out that some legal systems distinguished between ordinary limitation periods (“prescription” or “prescripción”) and peremptory limitation periods (“déchéance” or “caducidad”).
