• For instance, İstanbul Bilgi University in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the Swedish Raoul Wallenberg Institute periodically organizes courses on reporting process within the framework of the UN Twin Covenants.

• On 5 and 6 December 2003 the Special Rapporteur made a presentation at a symposium entitled “Crimes committed in the name of honour” organized by the Consulate of Sweden in Istanbul in cooperation with Ka-Mer (a Turkish women's centre), Bilgi University and the Swedish Institute.

• (e) In Turkey, the Institute cooperated with Istanbul Bilgi University Human Rights Research Centre to promote non-discrimination and the human rights of women among, inter alia, members of the Turkish judiciary and legal practitioners and a human rights-based approach to disability among legal practitioners through training and awareness-raising activities;

• From 6 to 8 May 2008, I convened an expert consultation in Istanbul, in conjunction with my thematic report on political economy of women's human rights (referred hereafter as “expert consultation”), which was made possible with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), and Bilgi University.
