• A study called “Criminality and Violence in the Lives of Older People” (Lebenssituation, Sicherheit und Gesundheit von Frauen in Deutschland) was commissioned in order to shed light on this issue, while detailed consideration is to be given to the relative level at which men and women are affected in keeping with gender mainstreaming methods. The subject of the study is the everyday context in which older women and older men live, as well as how they become victims within the context of close - and, at least for the affected person, important - social relationships.
