• From 1963 to 1968 Makarios refused to meet what he regarded to be “the leader of the rebels” (namely his Vice-President Dr. Küçük), and he offered us minority rights.
  وفي الفترة من 1963 إلى 1968 كان مكاريوس يرفض الاجتماع بمن يعتبره “زعيم المتمردين” (أي نائبه الدكتور كوجوك)، وعرض أن يمنحنا الحقوق التي تمنح للأقليات.
• On 7 March 1964, the Vice-President of the partnership Republic of Cyprus, Dr. Fazil Küçük, sent a telegram (document S/5583 of 9 March 1964) to the President of the Security Council in which he stated, inter alia, the following:
  وفي 7 آذار/مارس 1964، أرسل نائب رئيس جمهورية قبرص التي تشترك فيها الطائفتان، الدكتور فاضل كوتشوك، برقية (الوثيقة S/5583 المؤرخة 9 آذار/مارس 1964) إلى رئيس مجلس الأمن ذكر فيها، في جملة أمور، ما يلي:
• The Euphrates and Tigris rivers, the main rivers in Eastern and South-eastern Anatolia, flow into the Persian Gulf; the Yeşilırmak, Kızılırmak and Sakarya rivers in Central Anatolia flow into the Black Sea; the Susurluk, Biga and Gönen Streams in the west flow into the Marmara Sea; and the Gediz, Büyük and Küçük Menderes rivers flow into the Aegean Sea.
  فنهرا الفرات ودجلة هما النهران الرئيسيان اللذان يجريان في منطقتي شرق وجنوب شرق الأناضول ويصبان في الخليج الفارسي؛ أما الأنهار يزيلرمان وكيزيليرماك وساكريا فإنها تجري في وسط الأناضول وتصب في البحر الأسود؛ في حين تصب الجداول سوسورلوك وبيغا وغونن التي تجري غرباً في بحر مرمرة، والأنهار غيديز وبويوك وكوتشوك منديريس في بحر ايجه.
• Dr. Küçük's attempt to keep the constitution alive comes to naught because, in spite of all the crimes perpetrated against Turkish Cypriots, Makarios continues to be treated (together with his cabinet composed of 100 per cent Greek Cypriots) as the legitimate government of Cyprus!
  وباءت بالفشل محاولة الدكتور كوجوك الرامية إلى الحفاظ على بقاء الدستور، لأنه رغم جميع الجرائم التي ارتكبت في حق القبارصة الأتراك، ظل مكاريوس (ومعه مجلس وزرائه المؤلف بأكمله من قبارصة يونانيين) يُـعامَـلون بوصفهم الحكومة الشرعية لقبرص!
