Indeed, the concept of State terrorism or terror of State originated from the “régime de la terreur” which evolved between 1792 and 1794, during the French Revolution, wherein terror-violence was used intentionally and systematically by the revolutionary government as an instrument of political repression and social control.
والواقع أن مفهوم إرهاب الدولة أو الترهيب الذي تمارسه الدولة قد نشأ عن "نظام الإرهاب" الذي تطور بين عام 1792 وعام 1794 خلال الثورة الفرنسية حيث كانت الحكومة الثورية تستخدم الإرهاب - العنف بصورة متعمدة ومنهجية كأداة للقمع السياسي والسيطرة الاجتماعية.
