• United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Global Alliance for ICT and Development: participated in most events organized by the Global Alliance; (a) Appointment of the President of OCCAM, Pierpaolo Saporito, as High-level Adviser to the Global Alliance; (b) co-organized the Infopoverty World Conference in 2007 and 2008 on the themes “Harnessing the use of ICTs towards the Millennium Development Goals” and “Low cost — smart technologies to fight poverty and save the planet”, respectively, whose strategic guidelines were approved in the final declaration endorsed by participants in the Infopoverty World Conference; (c) creation and leadership of a community of expertise on e-services for development under the mandate of the Global Alliance, thereby increasing its stakeholders.
