• In order to reach a mutually acceptable solution regarding the territorial dispute between Equatorial Guinea and Gabon (regarding sovereignty over the Mbanié, Cocotiers and Congas islands in Corsico Bay, the delimitation of maritime boundaries and the delineation of the land boundary), the two States agreed, in January 2004, to accept mediation under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
