• Después de visitar Kazajstán, el Relator Especial sobre la independencia de los magistrados y abogados "welcomes steps taken by Kazakhstan since 1991 to accede to a number of international human rights instruments, especially the signature of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and urges the authorities to ensure their prompt ratification, without reservations, including accession to the Optional Protocol of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (…) He urges the authorities to consider similar steps with regard to the Second Optional Protocol to the Internatinal Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, aiming at the abolition of the death penalty.
