• LThe document déclare ce qui suit states: « “Reconnaiîssanttre qu'il faut entreprendre, à l'échelon du système des Nations Unies, des activités efficaces dans le domaine de l'environnement en améliorant la coordination, en fournissant de meilleures directives et orientations en la matière, en renforçant les connaissances scientifiques, l'évaluation et la coopération, en appliquant mieux les traités et en respectant leur autonomie juridique ainsi qu'en assurant une intégration plus étroite des activités environnementales dans le cadre plus vaste du développement durable au niveau opérationnel, notamment grâce au renforcement des capacités, n Nous convenons d'étudier la possibilité de mettre en place un cadre institutionnel plus cohérent à cette fin, y compris des structures plus intégrées, s'appuyant sur les institutions existantes et les instruments adoptés à l'échelon international ainsi que sur les organes conventionnels et les institutions spécialisées ».gnizing the need for more efficient environmental activities in the United Nations system, with enhanced coordination, improved policy advice and guidance, strengthened scientific knowledge, assessment and cooperation, better treaty compliance, while respecting the legal autonomy of the treaties, as well as better integration of environmental activities in the broader sustainable development framework at the operational level, including through capacity-building, we agree to explore the possibility of a more coherent institutional framework to address this need, including a more integrated structure, building on existing institutions, and internationally agreed instruments, as well as the treaty bodies and the specialized agencies”.
