ويتمثل هدفها في تقديم خدمات شاملة للمكتبة والمعلومات لوحدات الأمانة العامة في فيينا والمكاتب الميدانية والبعثات الدائمة، ومن بينها شراء المواد اللازمة للمكتبة، وصيانة الموارد المطبوعة والإلكترونية، وتوفير خدمات المكتبة (المراجع والإعارة)، وأنشطة التعميم، والتعاون مع المنظمات الأخرى التابعة للأمم المتحدة ورقمنة وثائق الأمم المتحدة الأساسية.
