But for the purpose of achieving an overall consensus, which would bring the Conference back to negotiating mode, Italy could accept the establishment of an ad hoc committee in the CD to develop recommendations on how the Conference could more effectively deal with effective international arrangements to assure non-nuclear-weapon States against the use or the threat of use of nuclear weapons.
