In their effort to maintain or reduce capacity, some countries reported the use of the following management methods: the application of individual transferable quotas (ITQs), the use of restrictive entry, vessel and permit buy-out, the scrapping of a specified percentage of large-scale tuna long-line fishing vessels, prohibition of the use of subsidies to increase capacity and the determination of fishing capacity requirements by the fishing industry itself in the light of their quota holdings.
وفي إطار الجهود التي يبذلها بعض البلدان للحفاظ على القدرات أو الحد منها، أفادت تلك البلدان باستخدام أساليب التنظيم التالية: تطبيق نظام الحصص الفردية القابلة للتحويل، واستخدام نظام الدخول المقيد، ووقف عمل السفن ووقف التراخيص مقابل عوض، وتخريد نسبة مئوية محددة من سفن صيد أسماك التونة كبيرة السعة التي تستخدم الخيوط الطويلة، حظر تقديم الدعم لزيادة القدرات، وقيام صناعة الصيد نفسها بتحديد احتياجات قدرات الصيد استنادا إلى حجم حيازاتها من حصص الصيد.
