The Fund's activities have indicated that issues of sexual and reproductive health should be considered in relation to international migration; that the linkages of migration with HIV/AIDS had to be addressed by policy-oriented research and advocacy; and that there continued to be a need to understand better the role of migrant remittances in family formation, levels and trends of fertility, intergenerational transfers and internal migration.
وبيَّنت أنشطة الصندوق أن مسائل الصحة الجنسية والإنجابية ينبغي النظر فيها في ضوء علاقتها بالهجرة الدولية، وأن صلات الهجرة بفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/متلازمة نقص المناعة المكتسب (الإيدز) ينبغي أن تتناولها البحوث والدعوة المتعلقة بالسياسات في هذا الشأن؛ وأن الحاجة ما زالت قائمة إلى الوصول إلى فهم أفضل لدور حوالات المهاجرين في تكوين الأسر، ومستويات واتجاهات الخصوبة، والخصال التي تتوارثها الأجيال، والهجرة الداخلية.
