In spite of the challenges posed by feeble GDP growth, high inflation and the appreciation of the new Israeli sheqel (NIS), the Palestinian Authority has implemented serious fiscal austerity measures. The level of net public revenue has been increased and public expenditure has been reduced by curbing public employment, freezing wages, improving tax collection and enforcing strict rules for utility bills payment.
على الرغم من التحديات التي يطرحها ضَعف نمو الناتج المحلي الإجمالي وتزايد معدل التضخم وارتفاع قيمة العملة الإسرائيلية (الشاقل الإسرائيلي الجديد)، ونفّذت السلطة الفلسطينية تدابير تقشف مالي جدية، واستطاعت رفع مستوى الإيرادات العامة الصافية وخفض الإنفاق العام عن طريق الحد من العمالة في القطاع العام، وتجميد الأجور، وتحسين عملية تحصيل الضرائب، وإنفاذ قواعد صارمة فيما يتعلق بدفع فواتير المنافع العامة.
