Kenya: The Monopolies and Prices Commission would be most grateful if technical assistance could be extended in the following areas: (a) training: the officers in the Commission would benefit from one to three months' attachment to agencies with experience in competition policy and law implementation; (b) publicity and awareness: as most of the general public, government agencies, business enterprises and management countrywide are unaware of the existence of the law, resources should be extended to help the Commission publicize competition policy; (c) review of the Act: resources are required for review of the existing law, enacted in December 1988, to make it more suitable, flexible, effective and reflective of the needs of a liberalized economy; (d) regional cooperation: member States of the COMESA region and the East African Community (EAC) could benefit a great deal from competition policy seminars.
كينيا: ستكون لجنة الاحتكارات والأسعار ممتنة للغاية إذا أمكن تقديم مساعدة تقنية في المجالات التالية: (أ) التدريب: سيستفيد الموظفون في اللجنة من الحاقهم للتدريب لمدة شهر إلى ثلاثة أشهر بوكالات ذات خبرة في مجال تنفيذ سياسات وقوانين المنافسة؛ (ب) الدعاية والوعي: نظراً إلى أن معظم عامة الجمهور والوكالات الحكومية ومؤسسات الأعمال والإدارة على نطاق البلد لا يدركون وجود القانون المعني، فإنه ينبغي توجيه موارد بغية مساعدة اللجنة على الدعاية لسياسة المنافسة؛ (ج) مراجعة القانون: تلزم موارد من أجل مراجعة القانون القائم، الذي سُن في كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1988 لجعله أكثر ملاءمة ومرونة وفعالية ولجعله يعكس احتياجات اقتصاد محرر؛ (د) التعاون الإقليمي: يمكن للدول الأعضاء في السوق المشتركة لشرق أفريقيا والجنوب الأفريقي وجماعة دول شرق أفريقيا (EAC) أن تستفيد بقدر كبير من الحلقات الدراسية المتعلقة بسياسة المنافسة.
