In banking, the Comprehensive Banking Policy (1999-2002) was applied. This was aimed at developing aspects of the banking system and liquidity management, regulating the foreign currency market and introducing banking technology; to implement this, specific yearly action programmes were put in place. The size of the foreign currency reserves increased during the 1990s and beginning of the third millennium, reaching US$ 134.9 million in 2000 and rising to US$ 1,323.9 million in 2004.
وفي المجال المصرفي تم تطبيق السياسة المصرفية الشاملة (1999 - 2002) وتهدف إلى تنمية الجهاز المصرفي في النواحي المختلفة وتطوير إدارة السيولة وتنظيم سوق النقد الأجنبي وإدخال التقنية المصرفية ولتنفيذ ذلك تم وضع برامج عمل سنوية محددة، ومن ناحية أخرى زاد حجم الاحتياطي من العملات الأجنبية في نهاية التسعينات وبداية الألفية الثالثة ففي عام 2000 قدر بـ 134.9 مليون دولار وارتفع إلى 1323.9 مليون دولار في عام 2004.

UNHCR explained that the situation was due to the growing discrepancy between expanding budgets and available funds, increasingly rigid personnel expenses, the heavy concentration of staff resources in Geneva and the weak mechanism for protecting against fluctuations in the foreign-exchange currency market.
وأوضحت المفوضية أن ذلك الوضع يعزى إلى تزايد التباين بين الميزانيات الموسعة والأموال المتاحة، وتزايد تصلب مصروفات الموظفين، وتركز موارد الموظفين بكثافة في جنيف، وضعف آلية الحماية من تقلبات سوق صرف العملات الأجنبية.

And, according to the BIS, while the renminbi has finallybroken into the top ten currencies in foreign-exchange markets, itstill accounts for only 2.2% of all transactions, just behind the Mexican peso’s 2.5% share.
ووفقاً لبنك التسويات الدولية فإن الرنمينبي، برغم دخولهأخيراً إلى قائمة أفضل عشر عملات في أسواق النقد الأجنبي، لا يزاليشكل 2.2% فقط من كل المعاملات، أي أنه يأتي خلف البيزو المكسيكي الذيبلغت حصته 2.5%.
