Recent technological advances, notably the inclusion of UNICODE support in the latest releases of the Windows operating system and advances in XML technology, have eliminated major limitations to the use of Web-based technology for the dissemination of terminology data, in particular by solving the problem of displaying and printing pages containing text in both Roman and non-Roman languages.
وفي هذا الصدد، فإن أوجه التقدم التكنولوجي الأخيرة، ولا سيما إدماج دعم أحرف الشفرة الموحدة (يونيكود) (UNICODE) في آخر إصدارات نظام تشغيل النوافذ (Windows)، وأوجه التقدم في تكنولوجيا لغة ماركاب القابلة للتوسع (XML)، إنما قد أدت إلى إلغاء أوجه القصور الرئيسية في استخدام التكنولوجيا القائمة على الشبكة العالمية لنشر بيانات المصطلحات، ولا سيما بحل مشكلة عرض وطبع الصفحات المحتوية على نصوص مكتوبة بأحرف لاتينية وغير لاتينية.
