The proposed section would be managed by a Chief, Systems Support Section (P-4) who, under the supervision of the Chief, Communications and Information Technology Services, would oversee the implementation of major information technology systems projects and the deployment of software systems at the Base, act as the applications support focal point for Headquarters, oversee the global help desk activities and manage the planning and implementation of the information security management systems and information technology quality assurance programmes at the Base.

The Chief would be supported by an Information Security Officer (P-3), who would be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the information security management system, the development and implementation of new information and communications systems, the development of an information security strategy for the Base, assessment of electronic threats in order to identify risks to the information assets and development and delivery of information security awareness training to staff at the Logistics Base.
