“Sidewall” (3) means the part of a pneumatic tyre between the tread and the area designed to be covered by the rim flange.

Three different types of process, i.e., top-capping, recapping and bead-to-bead are described here: Re-topped tyres are those in which the tread is removed and replaced with a newly prepared tread; Re-capped tyres also have their tread removed, although in their case the new tread used is larger than in the re-topped tyre, as it covers part of the tyre's sidewalls; Bead-to-bead tyres are those in which the tread is removed and the new tread goes from the one side to the other, covering all of the lower part of the tyre, including the sidewalls.
(ج) الإطارات المجددة من طرف لطرف هي تلك التي لا يزال فيها السطح، ويمتد الطرف الجديد من جانب إلى الجانب الآخر حيث يغطي الجزء الأسفل من الإطار بما في ذلك الجدران الجانبية.
