Iraq also states that, in any case, the net freshwater storage in the two aquifers has already increased by natural recharge; and it asserts that there is no evidence of fresh groundwater loss because pumping rates at both of the aquifers have, in fact, increased since the invasion and occupation.
ويضيف العراق قائلاً إنه، في أي حال، فإن صافي مخزون المياه العذبة في مجمّعي المياه الجوفية قد ارتفع بفعل التجميم الطبيعي؛ ويؤكد أن ليس ثمة دليلاً ل على فقدان مياه جوفية عذبة، لأن معدلات الضخ في كلا المجمعين قد ارتفعت منذ الغزو والاحتلال.
