Nicaragua decided to go ahead with the meeting because we did not want to surrender to terrorism; we did not want to allow ourselves to be cornered by these sinister forces that attempt to interrupt normality, paralyze us and turn us into hostages of fear, all in the name of causes that are presented as being noble objectives.
وقد قررت نيكاراغوا أن تمضي في إجراءات عقد الاجتماع لأننا أردنا أن نبين أننا لن نستسلم للإرهاب، ولن نسمح لأنفسنا بالتخاذل أمام تلك القوى الشريرة التي تحاول تخريب حياتنا الطبيعية، وشل حركتنا، وجعلنا رهائن للخوف، وكل هذا باسم قضايا يُدعى أنها تمثل أهدافا نبيلة.
