Power sector. Options in this category include: (a) the development of a self-sustaining power sector through reappraisal of the roles of Government and the private sector and sector reform towards a commercial orientation and the elimination/reduction of electricity price subsidies; (b) the improvement of the thermal efficiency of electricity generation through the adoption of new coal technologies; (c) the utilization of hydropower resources to the fullest extent, recognizing the potential of this option for cheap, clean electricity, provided environmental and social issues are adequately addressed; (d) the upgrading of the power transmission and distribution networks and employment of loss reduction measures; and (e) the introduction of appropriate tariff structures to entice consumers to shift their demand from peak times through better load management.
قطاع الطاقة - تشمل الخيارات في هذه الفئة ما يلي: (أ) استحداث قطاع للطاقة الكهربائية يعول نفسه بإعادة تقييم دوري الحكومة والقطاع الخاص وإصلاح القطاع لاتخاذ منحى تجاري وإلغاء/دعم أسعار الكهرباء أو خفضه؛ (ب) تحسين الكفاءة الحرارية لتوليد الكهرباء باعتماد تكنولوجيات جديدة تستخدم الفحم؛ (ج) استخدام موارد الطاقة الكهرمائية إلى أقصى حدودها، مع التسليم بما ينطوي عليه هذا الخيار من إمكانيات لاستخدام كهرباء نظيفة ورخيصة، شريطة أن تعالج المسائل البيئية والاجتماعية معالجة وافية؛ (د) رفع كفاءة شبكات نقل الطاقة وتوزيعها واستخدام تدابير تقليل الفاقد؛ (هـ) إدخال هياكل مناسبة للتعريفات تغري المستهلكين باستخدام الطاقة في غير أوقات الذروة بتحسين إدارة الحمل الكهربائي.

Article 17 of the Law on employment protection, adopted by the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan on 22 January 1993, provides that, in jobs in which women and young people under the age of 18 are required to lift and move heavy loads by hand, the management must provide for mechanization, automation and other facilities for the transport of such loads.
