The working people exercise power through their representative organs - the Supreme People's Assembly and local people's assemblies at all levels” and in the article 66: “All the citizens who have reached the age of 17 have the right to elect and to be elected, irrespective of sex, race, occupation, length of residence, property status, education, party affiliation, political views or religion.” The Law on Election to the People's Assembly at All Levels underscores the constitutional idea of general election and stipulates that the DPRK citizens residing in a foreign country may also be elected to the Supreme People's Assembly and vote if he or she wishes in case an election takes place during his or her stay at the homeland, elaborating the principle of universal, equal and direct suffrage, the method of secret voting and other concrete procedures.
ويمارس الشعب العامل السلطة من خلال أجهزته النيابية -الجمعية الشعبية العليا والجمعيات الشعبية المحلية بجميع مستوياتها``، وفي المادة 66 على ما يلي: “لجميع المواطنين الذين يبلغون السابعة عشرة من العمر حق الاقتراع وحق الترشيح، بغض النظر عن الجنس والعرق والمهنة وطول مدة الإقامة والممتلكات والتعليم والانتماء الحزبي والآراء السياسية والدين”.
