• The State party observes that the St. Vincent Correctional Health Service, supplying extensive primary and secondary medical care to Port Phillip Prison, provides inter alia 24 hour availability of medical and nursing staff, a 20-bed in-patient ward at the prison, resuscitative facilities (including defibrillation), bi-weekly visits by a consultant physician, and ready availability of transfer in the event of major cardiac problems to St. Vincent's Hospital (possessing a purpose-built 10-bed in-patient ward).
