• A Dengue Task Force responded quickly with the distribution of mosquito nets to the vulnerable groups of the population, fogging/cleaning the areas affected by dengue and also making the public aware of the disease through a mass campaign that includes use of media. A medium-term strategy is also being developed to respond to the environmental determinants of mosquito-borne disease as a more sustainable measure.
