  القلب مغلف بعظام .
• Whatever it is, it's encased around her heart.
  مهما كان فهو يحيط بالقلب
• Whatever it is, it's encased around her heart.
  ،مهما يكون فهو مغلّف حول قلبها
• And they said, "Our hearts are encased." No indeed, (but) Allah has cursed them for their disbelief; so, little do they believe.
  وقالوا قلوبنا غلف بل لعنهم الله بكفرهم فقليلا ما يؤمنون
• And they say , " Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us , and there is a heaviness in our ears , and there is a barrier between us , so do as you will and so shall we . "
  « وقالوا » للنبي « قلوبنا في أكنَّةٍ » أغطية « مما تدعونا إليه وفي آذاننا وقر » ثقل « ومن بيننا وبينك حجاب » خلاف في الدين « فاعمل » على دينك « إننا عاملون » على ديننا .
• And they say , " Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us , and there is a heaviness in our ears , and there is a barrier between us , so do as you will and so shall we . "
  وقال هؤلاء المعرضون الكافرون للنبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم : قلوبنا في أغطية مانعة لنا من فهم ما تدعونا إليه ، وفي آذاننا صمم فلا نسمع ، ومن بيننا وبينك- يا محمد- ساتر يحجبنا عن إجابة دعوتك ، فاعمل على وَفْق دينك ، كما أننا عاملون على وَفْق ديننا .
• So, for their breaking of their compact, and their disbelieving in the signs of Allah, and their killing of the Prophesiers (i.e. prophets) untruthfully and their saying, "Our hearts are encased." No indeed, (but) Allah has stamped upon them for their disbelief; so they do not believe except a few.
  فبما نقضهم ميثاقهم وكفرهم بآيات الله وقتلهم الأنبياء بغير حقّ وقولهم قلوبنا غلف بل طبع الله عليها بكفرهم فلا يؤمنون إلا قليلا
