This programme is striving to realize and maintain high immunization coverage and reduction in the incidence of diseases. During 1996, the coverage was 99 per cent nationwide. The programme includes immunization against infantile paralysis, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, tuberculosis, measles, and epidemic hepatitis. In 1997 immunization against parotid gland infection has been added to the list of immunizations.
يعمل برنامج التحصين الموسع لتحقيق والمحافظة على نسب عالية للتغطية بالتحصينات وخفض معدلات الأمراض، وقد بلغت التغطية بالتحصينات حوالي 99% تقريباً على المستوى الوطني خلال عام 1996، ويشمل ذلك التحصين ضد أمراض شلل الأطفال والدفتيريا والسعال الديكي والتيتانوس والدرن والحصبة والالتهاب الكبدي الوبائي، وفي تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 1997 أضيف التحصين ضد مرض التهاب الغدة النكفية إلى قائمة هذه التحصينات.
