Recent evidence from a number of African countries where profit-investment-export nexuses in the mining sector have recently been established around attracting FDI suggest that, to date, the trade-off has not been a favourable one for these host countries, given the revenues actually generated from their export booms, and particularly when environmental and social costs are factored into the calculation.
وتشير أدلة حديثة مستمدة من عدد من البلدان الأفريقية حيث أقيمت مؤخراً روابط بين الربح والاستثمار والتصدير في قطاع التعدين تتمركز حول اجتذاب الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر إلى أن التنازلات لا تعتبر حتى الآن مؤاتية لهذه البلدان المضيفة، إذا نظرنا إلى العائدات المتولدة فعلياً عن انتعاش التصدير، وبخاصة إذا وضعت التكاليف البيئية والاجتماعية في الحسبان.
