Of these beneficiaries, 19,728 families used to live in tin-sheet huts and 35,521 families used to live in squatter settlements. Another 31,560 families are due to benefit from projects, which are still under implementation.
وقد استفادت 249 55 أسرة من العمليات المنجزة إلى غاية 1998، من بينهم 728 19 أسرة تقطن دور الصفيح و521 35 أسرة تقطن أحياء السكن العشوائي، وستستفيد من العمليات التي لا زالت في طور الإنجاز 560 31 أسرة.

The State has been focusing attention over the last two decades on addressing the problem of substandard housing and curbing the negative effects resulting from fast-paced urbanization. Several programmes have been accomplished, including the resettling of inhabitants of tin-sheet huts, replanning and developing squatter settlement areas, and the production of special building materials for low-cost housing.
وقد انصب اهتمام الدولة خلال العقدين الأخيرين على محاربة السكن غير اللائق والحد من المشاكل المترتبة عن التمدن السريع، حيث تم إنجاز عدة برامج تشمل إعادة إسكان قاطني أحياء الصفيح وهيكلة أحياء السكن العشوائي وإنتاج التجهيزات الخاصة بالسكن الاقتصادي.

In 1999, a large-scale programme for combating substandard housing was put together, which consolidated the Government's efforts to eliminate tin-sheet huts and replan the districts that had no infrastructure. Some 127,679 families benefited from the massive programme, which was designed to cover the whole country.
ففي سنة 1999، تم وضع برنامج واسع لمحاربة السكن غير اللائق، وذلك في إطار دعم عمل السلطات العمومية في مجال القضاء على دور الصفيح وإعادة هيكلة الأحياء السكنية التي تفتقر للتجهيزات الضرورية، وقد شمل هذا البرنامج مجموع التراب الوطني، حيث استفادت منه 679 127 أسرة.
