According to the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on the situation of human rights defenders, the number and intensity of attacks against human rights defenders has increased and basically doubled in the last five years, with an average of one attack against defenders every other day.
ووفقاً لما أفاد به الممثل الخاص للأمين العام المعني بحالة المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان، فقد ازداد عدد وكثافة حالات الاعتداء على المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان وتضاعفت في السنوات الخمس الأخيرة، بحدوث حالة اعتداء مرة كل يومين في المتوسط.
