• The Syrian Authority for Family Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Department of Childhood of the League of Arab States, held a conference in Damascus on 3-5 July 2007 on the impact of armed conflict on the Arab family.
  وعقدت الهيئة السورية لشؤون الأسرة بالتعاون مع وزارة الإعلام وجامعة الدول العربية/ إدارة الأسرة والطفولة مؤتمراً حول أثر النزاعات المسلحة على الأسرة العربية في دمشق في الفترة من 3 إلى 5 تموز/يوليه 2007.
• Reference could be made here that there are many government bodies and some NGOs working in the area of childhood which allocate part of their budgets to the works of rights mentioned in the Optional Protocol according to their specialty and size of activity. For an example, reference could be made to the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (Department of Childhood) for its being the governmental body concerned with childhood in the State. A yearly budget is allocated to be spent on the programs implemented by this Department in collaboration with other bodies with the same specialty. The budget of this Department was as in the following table (in Qatari Riyal):
  يمكن الإشارة هنا إلى أنه هنالك عدة جهات حكومية وبعض منظمات المجتمع المدني العاملة في مجال الطفولة تخصص جزءاً من ميزانيتها لإعمال الحقوق الواردة في البروتوكول الاختياري، وفقاً لاختصاصها وحجم نشاطها وعلى سبيل المثال لا الحصر يمكن الإشارة إلى المجلس الأعلى لشؤون الأسرة (إدارة الطفولة) باعتباره الجهة الحكومية المعنية بالطفولة في الدولة حيث يتم سنوياً تخصيص ميزانية تنفق على البرامج التي تنفذها الإدارة بالتعاون مع الجهات الأخرى ذات الاختصاص حيث بلغت ميزانيتها على النحو المبين بالجدول التالي:

• At the same time, a National Committee against Commercial Sexual violence is being created, under the leadership of the Department for Childhood in coordination with civil society and public institutions.
  ويجري بشكل مواز إنشاء مكتب وطني لمكافحة العنف الجنسي التجاري سيكون تحت رئاسة وكالة الوزارة لشؤون الأطفال، بالتنسيق مع المجتمع المدني والمؤسسات العامة.
• The innovative Roving Caregivers Programme, which is run by the Early Childhood Department of the Ministry of Education, is an important step in improving the quality of day care in Saint Lucia. The programme aims to offer early stimulation to young children and improve parenting practices in disadvantaged communities.
