The additional $529,784 contribute to the objective of the country programme through the provision of $210,000 to strengthen routine immunization coverage in 20 poorly performing zones; $100,000 to support the dracunculiasis eradication programme through the construction of hand-dug wells and shallow drilled wells in 20 endemic villages, the installation of Afridev handpumps, and the establishment of a community-managed operation and maintenance system; $40,000 to the education programme to support the design and production of modules for training in-service teachers; $147,067 to enhance water supply coverage in the woreda (district) integrated basic services programme; and $32,717 to document best practices in the current programme for possible replication on a larger scale during the new country programme of cooperation.
