• The Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission, meeting in Anchorage (Alaska), United States, from 7 to 18 May 2007, reiterated its concerns about the potential impacts of seismic exploration activities on cetaceans and made a number of recommendations in connection with seismic surveys, including the conduct of research, the use of seismic technologies, the timing of surveys and mitigation measures.
